Abstract
W niniejszej pracy doktorskiej zbadano materiały oparte na strukturze krzemionki mezoporowatej SBA-15 funkcjonalizowanej grupami fosfonianu miedzi w różnych koncentracjach. Praca została poświęcona badaniom nad materiałem w postaci cienkich warstw jednak w celu wykonania dokładniejszej charakterystyki badany materiał został przygotowany również w postaci proszków. Taki podejście umożliwiło wykonanie szeroko zakrojonych badań i dokładnej charakterystyki otrzymanych nanokompozytów.
In this doctoral thesis, materials based on the mesoporous silica structure SBA-15 functionalized with copper phosphonate groups at various concentrations were investigated. Although the research focused on thin-film materials, in order to perform a more comprehensive characterization, the studied material was also prepared in powder form. This approach enabled extensive studies and a detailed characterization of the obtained nanocomposites. The thesis also demonstrates the high application potential of the developed materials, which can be easily deposited onto a variety of surfaces using the dip-coating method. In the first part of the work, the characterization of the obtained materials confirmed their compliance with the synthesis assumptions. In particular, the elemental composition of all samples was confirmed using the EDS technique. Elemental mapping with this method revealed the homogeneous distribution of copper phosphonate groups on the silica surface. Further techniques such as TEM, SAXS, GISAXS, and nitrogen adsorption isotherms allowed for a detailed characterization of the ordered mesoporous silica structure serving as a carrier for the functional groups. Additionally, Raman spectroscopy enabled a preliminary characterization of the molecular structure of the studied systems. The second part of the thesis presents the results of X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) measurements performed at the ASTRA beamline of the National Synchrotron Radiation Centre SOLARIS. The applied XANES and EXAFS techniques aimed to provide the basis for developing precise numerical models reflecting the molecular structure of the studied materials. Therefore, the analysis of their results was supported by numerical simulations. By selecting appropriate numerical models based on the outcomes of these measurements, it was possible to carry out subsequent stages of simulations designed to explain the observed nonlinear optical (NLO) properties of the developed materials. The nonlinear optical properties observed for the materials investigated in this work exhibit an intriguing dependence on the concentration of functional groups, which is not linear. The conducted studies showed that the NLO properties are determined not only by the amount of copper phosphonate groups but also by their mutual interactions. These findings indicate that the material presented in this thesis can be regarded as a system with tunable NLO properties.
